Fruitlands 1, 5"x 7" oil on hardboard

I joined the Fruitland Plein Air Artist program.  I have 4 more free visits. After that I can donate 1 painting and get a year free.  I may just do that.  I wish more places would have plein air programs.

July 5th,  5"x 7" oil on hardboard

Painted from Lower Falls NH.  I'm getting a bit behind in posing due mainly to issues of photographing my oil painting. Trying to get a good shot without glare is a bit of a problem still. This photo isn't glare free but it's as close as I've been able to take thus far.

You Had to Be There, 5"x 7", oil on hardboard
Painted 2 weeks ago. At this point I had decide on 6 colors I would use for a while but in the pic above I used just 5 of them.

Yacht Bar Art, 5"x7" oil on hardboard

This painting was painted in Paintress Gretchen's Cleopatra Lounge in Vineyard Haven.  Though maybe not technically Yacht Aaht, it would be a perfect piece for the Yacht bar.

Orange You Glad I Didn't Say Banana?

Orange You Glad I Didn't Say Banana?, 5"x7"  Acrylic on hardboard

This painting was primed with a very matte acrylic paint. The paint handled very differently on this surface than it did on the very smooth ground on the panel in Mystery Meat and the gloss medium primed support in Open Heart.  I like the way all 3 handled.

Mystery Meat

Mystery Meat, 5"x7" acrylic on gesso board

My 1st painting with Golden Open Acrylics. They aren't like any other media I've used. Not like oils nor acrylics. I really like using them. I bought the modern set and it's a great set. I'm not usually a fan of sets but this set has 6 great single pigment colors, all with the best lightfastness rating. I was so happy with them I went out a bought the traditional set. I don't like the traditional set as much as the modern as 4 of the colors are mixtures 2 of which contain carbon black.
